In With The Old 2020: Preserving Community

The Young Friends of the Preservation Alliance are thrilled to present a reimagined In With The Old for our seventh year! Rather than shy away from the impact that COVID-19 is having on us as people and as preservationists, this year the YFPA has chosen to explore how we’ve been staying connected despite the pandemic. We’ve themed this year’s In With The Old “Preserving Community,” and we look forward to reflecting on our shared community through three nights of programming. Our Parks, our Main Streets, and our Transportation Networks are all sources of connection, and features deserving of deeper thought and appreciation during this time. We look forward to you joining us for one, two, or all three nights of programming!

Friday, November 13th, 6:30pm - 8:00pm - Transportation Networks

Transportation is a huge part of what makes Philadelphia special, with a multitude of networks linking the city's neighborhoods and spurring the creation of communities beyond its borders. We'll look at how these corridors developed, ways in which the rich transportation history of the region has been preserved, and what the future holds in these uncertain times.

The nightly events will be broadcast via Zoom, you'll receive a link to the Zoom event via email approximately 90 minutes prior to the start of each event.

If you have questions about the event, or are interested in attending but are unable to afford a ticket, please email the Young Friends of the Preservation Alliance steering committee at philly.yfpa@gmail.com
