SAVE THE TANNER HOUSE: A Fundraiser for Community Arts + Cultural Preservation

The Friends of the Tanner House invite you to a special one-night-only fundraiser event inspired by the legacy of the Tanner Family in North Philadelphia and the promise of arts-centric heritage engagement to make possible more just, equitable, and inclusive neighborhood futures. Hear testimony from a Tanner family descendant about the family’s storied history in North Philadelphia and engage with excerpts from the critically-acclaimed documentary “Master of Light” from artist/filmmaker George A. Morton. Following the screening, Friends of the Tanner House Co-Coordinator Christopher R. Rogers will moderate a discussion with special invited guests about the dynamic relationship between community arts and cultivating community care.

As of April 24, 2023, Friends of the Tanner House are only $25k away from achieving their next immediate goal of $70k to recover the roof of the National Historic Landmark Henry Ossawa Tanner House. We invite your support.

Emphasizing access from within our primary communities, individual tickets are being offered on a sliding scale from $20 - $250. Please select the price point that is most comfortable for you while reminding you that ALL proceeds of this event will be used to further the work of Friends of the Tanner House. Friends of the Tanner House has an urgent goal to achieve!

Event sponsorship is available. Sponsors will receive their logo on the Friends of the Tanner House event website, signage at the event, an on-stage thank you, and four tickets to the event. Sponsorships are $500, and must be reserved by May 10, 2023.
