**Special Tour** Kreate Hub

Transformed from a former schoolhouse that sat empty for over 10 years, Kreate Hub Philly has renovated the old building and opened its doors to artists and creatives looking for affordable workspace where they can build something for themselves. Join the founder and CEO of Kreate Hub, Dan Herdoon, and architect, Eli Storch from LRK, on a tour of this redevelopment project, proving that investing in historic structures, even with modest budgets, can create significant community benefit while also staving off imminent development pressures.

Added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 4, 1986, significant time was devoted to considering how best to retain and reuse the existing assemblies and materials of the former Thomas Powers School, including original red oak floors, pressed tin ceilings, arched openings, and slate chalkboard-inlaid rolling partitions.

Dan Herdoon is the founder and CEO of Kreate Hub with locations in New York City, Philadelphia, and soon to be in Baltimore.

Eli Storch AIA, is a Senior Associate at LRK who has committed his professional career to the Philadelphia community, where he has led projects across multiple typologies including adaptive reuse, community, mixed-use, and multifamily. Eli also serves as Chair for Philadelphia’s Design Advocacy Group.

Meet at the entrance of Kreate Hub at 2801 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia PA 19134
